It's a challenge for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

This is the squad that has won seven Cricket World Cups, plus an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, those for the peak baggers, are all that remain for a side that has achieved everything.

That it took as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the highest in the women's 50-over format, is, in truth, a testament to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over five decades.

It is hard for their hitters to possess a record if never given the opportunity.

Ultimately, the consequence of Australia giving up 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy being given a platform to create her most recent brilliance.

Originally famous as the 19-year-old niece of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her nation failed to win either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups conducted earlier and has witnessed all through 15 successful years since.

A T20 championship victory happened three months after her first appearance and seven world titles have followed from 10 tries across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India momentarily interrupted the run of success.

That loss "pushed us to reevaluate our levels," Healy commented earlier.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the final and was awarded tournament MVP. She guaranteed her country would not come up short.

Whether this newest brilliant performance topped that previous effort is debatable.

Some will argue the reasoning behind championship match pressure. Different voices suggest with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's definite is this ton was far harder to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this performance followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've been watching me in training, it was a frustrating experience because it appeared I've had no rhythm completely," stated Healy.

"Yet the moment you step out on the field, your competitive instincts activate and you simply focus on the contest."

Healy's competitive nature has continuously been her great strength - and an irreplaceable characteristic in taking over from famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, fallen to the 22-year-old seamer in all three matches, but here that only provided Healy's spark.

A single was taken off the bowler's initial ball and from there Healy was on her way.

"The possibility to take the field and lock in a contest with her and merely enjoy the moment in that aspect, kind of motivated me," commented Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 balls - her quickest at the World Cup - and her century in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three sixes.

Once she was removed Australia needed 66 more at run per delivery - an achievable target now needing a comfortable finish.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I'm pleased we have the confidence to do that now," stated Healy further.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, if we do, we are confident we can do it."

These statements will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this championship need to hear.

During the last week a belief they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this triumph coming after win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite being 76-7 at one stage.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before an encounter with traditional opponents England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final place may probably be guaranteed.

It was in the semi-finals they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a game Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at an important competition.

So great is her will, she afterwards commented she wanted to have participated through the pain.

Yet even as she subsequently acknowledged those physical issues have delayed plans to retire, this tournament is anticipated as her concluding event as leader in 50-over cricket and she is yet to win an international tournament as skipper.

Triumph in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
